Dvd organizing

These last couple weeks have been crazy! We have been painting the bathroom and guest room and we just finished the guest room last night. SO GLAD! Today is the first day I have to sit down and update my blog. Well, for the last few years my mom has been bugging me about organizing my DVD's or getting rid of them. Before I had them in this. I dont have a pic of them in it but you got the idea;)
Well I had 2 of these filled up all the way. Crazy I know and not the best system in the world either. I could never find the movie I was looking for and would end up watching something else. And if I did find what I was looking for it took at least 20 mins to find it. Well when we were going through my movies I got rid of 2 big black trash bags of movies that I never watch, but even then I had close to 200 movies. It was time to do something! So after looking on pinterest to get some ideas I came across this idea.

                                 Source
After seeing this I knew it would be alot of work, but I wanted something easy to be able to find the movie Im looking for and also look cute. So I started separating my movies by genere. Action, Horror, Chick-flics, Musicals, and etc. Here is what it looked like, I know too many!!
I got two of these baskets from Hobby Lobby and they were half off got them both for about $13.

i got these dvd holders to hold single discs in. They came 50 in a pack from target.
I ordered these from Amazon for the movies that came with 2 or more discs. These are amazing!

I got the washi tape to use for the top of the file folders. I cut the file folder to a little bit larger than the dvd discs and put the tape at the top to make it look pretty!

Here is in the process of doing them. It took awhile, but its so worth it! I had to trim the papers inside to fit in the single discs. But for the double discs or more like my tv shows it looked like this.

Here are the finished product! im so glad i did this its so much easier to find and carry around then those plastic bins.

Materials Needed:
2 Baskets- Hobby Lobby
Washi tape- (4 in a pack) Target
Pack of folders- Walmart
Dvd Sleeves (50 in a pack) Target
Atlantic Sleeves (25 in a pack) Amazon Source
Sticker letters
Scissors
Patience and time! :)

Being Creative! Tier stand

Lately I have gotten creative. I guess after living with my mom all my life and seeing her doing crafts all the time it has rubbed off on me lol ;) But since I have moved in with my grandparents i have been trying to downsize everything of mine and organize, organize, organize! I even organized my DVD's! But ill post about that in a later post :). I knew i wanted a tier stand for my bathroom, but all the ones I have seen wasn't the look i was wanting. So i searched like crazy on pinterst trying to find something that caught my eye. I thought about a tier stand with baskets and I was going to do that until i saw this on pinterest and i fell in love! This is what i found its so adorable!

So after seeing this I was on a mission to make it. So I head over to my local Goodwill store and got the items i needed. I left with this.
I got all of this for under 5 dollars! I was so excited because I didn't want to spend alot on this project. After i left there i headed over to Hobby Lobby to get some paint. I got the tubes of paint by Americana I started with a green color, but after I painted it I decided I didn't really like it so I used some of paint i had leftover from painting my room. Here is how it turned out!

My dog decided to get into the picture lol ;)

I first washed all the dishes; then started to paint. I had to a few coats to cover up the designs. I let them dry for a few hours. After they were dry I just glued all the pieces together. All together I spent about 7 dollars.

Materials Needed:
2 mugs (or more if you want to make higher)
2 plates
1 bowl
desired color of paint
E6000 glue

I thought I would share something I made for one of my education classes. I saw something similar to it on Pinterest, but I changed some of it. I had to make a schedule that will be displayed in my future classroom. I wanted to do something different I looked all over websites seeing ideas what people have done, but i really wanted something where I could move the items around if needed. So, this what it ended up looking like.

What you will need to make it is:
-cookie sheet
-spray paint
-magnets
-letters (optional)

first I spray painted it this really pretty blue that I found at hobby lobby. I made all my labels and put them in the desired place with use of the magnets. Then I found the letters at hobby lobby.  I can not wait till I get to put it in use!

My step dad got a new job in another state so we are trying to sell the house.... So keep us in your prayers about getting the house to sell.

I have gone back and forth with what major to go with in the last couple semesters. I was going to get my major in Teaching, but then I thought about graphic design. Well, long story short that wasn't the major for me so now I am doing Early Childhood Education and I hope I will stick with it this time!!
For the last three days it has rained and rained. Yesterday it started out pouring and then by 4 o'clock yesterday this is what showed up! First snow of 2013!  Its so Beautiful!  I hope everyone has a blessed day and if you got snow, enjoy it!!

Family weekend full of memories!

This weekend me and my family went down to see my Great Grandmother. She lives in assisting living because she has Alzheimer's. The night we got in South Carolina we went right over to see her. She was so excited to see us! I noticed that she kept staring at me. She said she couldn't believe how big I've gotten. We think she is remembers me as a little girl so its hard to process that I'm 19 years old. She still remembers us and some things which is good. I was happy she rememberd ALL of us!
On Saturday we celebrated MawMaws birthday! She was really happy that everyone came out to spend time with her and have a good time!

I got to see my cousin Erica we have always been close. We don't get to see each other much, but when we do we always have fun!

I am so glad me and my family got to go down to see my mawmaw i know everything meant a lot to her! I love spending time with my family!

So this is Love.

Today, I went to a wedding. And if anyone knows me they know I absolutely LOVE weddings!! It is really weird for me to say that I have a friend from high school that is married, but I am extremely happy for them! It was a really unique wedding I love everything about it. They did all different things I have never seen before in a wedding. Instead of the wedding march going when she came down the aisle they played "This is Love" from Cinderella. That absolutely just describes her. It was really grand!

The wedding really felt like a high school reunion, crazy as it sounds it really did. Me and my friend Jessica Driggers walked in and we saw all these people we went to school with. It was really great getting to see everyone that I haven't seen in a really long time! The cake they had was awesome i loved it they were so neat (:

I wish them many great, awesome years together. I am so happy for the happy couple! Congrats Mr. and Mrs. Justin Fyan!!

It's over...? yes, that's crazy it came to fast. Don't you think so?

How crazy the end of my year has been! I've been so busy i haven't gotten to update! Well,i will catch you up to date! I finished my 20 page paper YAY! Shortly, after that i graduated on May 21, 2011. It was such an wonderful day! i loved every second of it. Even though i cried so much the whole time. Mostly, my tears were happiness, but others were because i knew me and my friends will go our separate ways no matter how hard we try. I love my senior class so much we seemed more like a family then classmates which I am so grateful for.

If i had to tell someone about my senior year I would probably say it was the most stressful year I have ever had in a really long time. But when I look back at all the great times i had, the laughs and great memories I made with everyone I'm thankful for everyone that was part of my senior year because they made so much greater! (Now, i bet your wondering what I'll be doing for college. Well, i will share that at another entry!) (:

But my new adventurer that I am going to be taking on is going to Tegucigalpa, Honduras! I will be leaving this coming Friday at 3 am (24th) and will return July 5th! It's going to be an awesome opportunity and I am so thrilled to see what God is going to do for this city!
I didn't think i would be able to make it on this trip because i was so low on money, but My Savior found me a way! He always finds a way and I'm so happy he is my father! Happy Fathers day to our heavenly father and to all the dads everywhere! Dads are such an important role in a child's life and it is so important that we show that we are grateful for what they do! But this is all for now i will share more on my trip and keep all of you guys updated! Please keep me and my team in your prayers while we are there!
