Dvd organizing

These last couple weeks have been crazy! We have been painting the bathroom and guest room and we just finished the guest room last night. SO GLAD! Today is the first day I have to sit down and update my blog. Well, for the last few years my mom has been bugging me about organizing my DVD's or getting rid of them. Before I had them in this. I dont have a pic of them in it but you got the idea;)
Well I had 2 of these filled up all the way. Crazy I know and not the best system in the world either. I could never find the movie I was looking for and would end up watching something else. And if I did find what I was looking for it took at least 20 mins to find it. Well when we were going through my movies I got rid of 2 big black trash bags of movies that I never watch, but even then I had close to 200 movies. It was time to do something! So after looking on pinterest to get some ideas I came across this idea.

After seeing this I knew it would be alot of work, but I wanted something easy to be able to find the movie Im looking for and also look cute. So I started separating my movies by genere. Action, Horror, Chick-flics, Musicals, and etc. Here is what it looked like, I know too many!!
I got two of these baskets from Hobby Lobby and they were half off got them both for about $13.

i got these dvd holders to hold single discs in. They came 50 in a pack from target.
I ordered these from Amazon for the movies that came with 2 or more discs. These are amazing!

I got the washi tape to use for the top of the file folders. I cut the file folder to a little bit larger than the dvd discs and put the tape at the top to make it look pretty!

Here is in the process of doing them. It took awhile, but its so worth it! I had to trim the papers inside to fit in the single discs. But for the double discs or more like my tv shows it looked like this.

Here are the finished product! im so glad i did this its so much easier to find and carry around then those plastic bins.

Washi tape- (4 in a pack) Target

Being Creative! Tier stand

Lately I have gotten creative. I guess after living with my mom all my life and seeing her doing crafts all the time it has rubbed off on me lol ;) But since I have moved in with my grandparents i have been trying to downsize everything of mine and organize, organize, organize! I even organized my DVD's! But ill post about that in a later post :). I knew i wanted a tier stand for my bathroom, but all the ones I have seen wasn't the look i was wanting. So i searched like crazy on pinterst trying to find something that caught my eye. I thought about a tier stand with baskets and I was going to do that until i saw this on pinterest and i fell in love! This is what i found its so adorable!

So after seeing this I was on a mission to make it. So I head over to my local Goodwill store and got the items i needed. I left with this.
I got all of this for under 5 dollars! I was so excited because I didn't want to spend alot on this project. After i left there i headed over to Hobby Lobby to get some paint. I got the tubes of paint by Americana I started with a green color, but after I painted it I decided I didn't really like it so I used some of paint i had leftover from painting my room. Here is how it turned out!

My dog decided to get into the picture lol ;)

I first washed all the dishes; then started to paint. I had to a few coats to cover up the designs. I let them dry for a few hours. After they were dry I just glued all the pieces together. All together I spent about 7 dollars.

Materials Needed:
2 mugs (or more if you want to make higher)
2 plates
1 bowl
desired color of paint
E6000 glue
